This rare and elegant Vacheron & Constantin automatic watch was manufactured around 1970 and comes with its original box. The 18K yellow gold case impresses with its distinctive, elongated, slightly curved, and profiled lugs, which harmonize perfectly with the integrated 18K yellow gold bracelet, giving the watch a powerful presence.
The original gold bracelet is in excellent condition, is practically designed, removable, and allows for easy switching to a leather strap – ideal for varying style preferences.
A true highlight is the finely finished sunburst dial. Long, faceted 18K baton indices are complemented at the “12,” “6,” and “9” positions by striking arrow-shaped indices, which harmonize perfectly with the 18k gold dauphine hands to create a visually balanced and elegant appearance.
Inside, the high-quality Caliber 1072/1 operates with 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and is regulated in five positions. It is equipped with a rotor mounted on ruby roller bearings, with an outer segment crafted from 18K gold. For the highest quality of manufacturing and processing it is awarded with two embossed Geneva quality hallmarks. The Caliber 1072/1 was one of the first automatic movements from Vacheron & Constantin to be certified as a chronometer, ensuring exceptional precision and reliability.
The case measures approximately 35 mm in diameter and 44 mm in length, including the stylish lugs. The total weight of the watch with bracelet is 96.2 g. The bracelet, including the watch, has an overall length of approximately 20 cm and features a triple-adjustable clasp.
