This extremely decorative jewelry watch was made by the famous Louis Duchene & Fils Geneva manufacture in the early 19th century. The company was established around 1750 by Luis Duchene in Geneva as Louis Duchêne Co. Between 1791 and 1820, the manufacture signed its watches as Louis Duchene & Fils. The precious gold case is an absolute work of art, with elaborate decoration, rich in ornamentation in high relief in a fanciful arrangement, set with turquoises and cut stones. The artistry of the Geneva watch and case makers was known worldwide, to this day one is fascinated by the craftsmanship these creators created. On the band of the case between "10" and "11" o'clock is the pusher to open the back cover. Hidden behind a signed and numbered gold dom is the gilt full plate movement with keywind and quarter repeating. The repetition will be triggered via pendant and strikes two hammers on two gongs. The silvered dial has a guilloché center with signature plaque, the outer ground ring bears Roman numerals and five-minute divisions. The outer part of the dial has an applied garland of leafs and flowers in two-tone gold.
