This remarable enamel pocket watch was manufactured for the Chinese market in the second half of the 19th century . The speciality of this pocket watch is the remarkable, lavishly decorated cream-coloured enamel dial. It has an applied central gold decoration inlaid with green stones. The faceted gold rhombs are mounted between Roman hours. The case is half pearl-set on both sides. The back side of this pocket watch has a central, polychrome enamel medaillon in finest perfection. This precious enamel painting shows the depiction of a beauty in profile, she wears a scarf which is fixed on the head with a shiny brooch.. This extremely fine painting is on an engine-turned, translucent cobalt blue enamelled ground. The lavishly florally engraved bridge movement is gilt and protected behind a glass dome with winding holes. The movement is a typical movement for the Chinese market with remarkable, abundant floral engraving and going barrell.
