This high-quality, complicated hunting case pocket watch was manufactured in the end of the 19th century by the well-known Swiss watch and music box manufacturer Mermod Frères. The example offered here is a minute repeater in a valuable, solid execution which was equipped with a high-quality and complicated LeCoultre movement. In the end of the 19th century LeCoultre manufacture was the premier address for watch movements with complications, including repeaters and chronographs. The Mermod Frères company was on the LeCoultre manufacture's customer list and was supplied with complicated repeating movements, including in combination with chronographs or calendars. LeCoultre sold extremely unique and complicated movements worldwide, most of the movements were unsigned, certain executions of the movement are now rarely found with the signature "LECOULTRE". The pocket watch has a remarkable total weight of approx. 124 grams with a diameter of 54mm. The wonderfully preserved, massive 14k rose gold case has a lateral slider for the repetition and a pusher for the chronograph at "12". The high-quality, fines finished LeCoultre Ebauche with a visible arranged chased chronograph mechanism is protected behind a 14k gold dome. The gold-plated bridge movement has bevelled bridges, cocks and chronograph steel parts. The minute repetition, which will be triggered by a slider, sounds via 2 hammers and 2 gongs. The repetition beats loudly and has a beautiful sound.
